Heather Weber is the lead and founding pastor of CityChurch. Prior to starting CityChurch, she was an associate pastor at LIFEchurch in North Liberty/Coralville for eight years and is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. She is a district presbyter and serves as the Iowa Ministry Network's Director for the Network of Women Ministers (NWM) in addition to serving as the North Central Region Director for the NWM in the United States.
She, her husband and daughters, and a group of friends launched CityChurch in downtown Iowa City in September of 2016, and she's thrilled to be pastoring in this season of church life. Heather attended the University of Iowa and got her B.A. in English and religion before receiving an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the Rainier Writing Workshop, after which she published Dear Boy,: An Epistolary Memoir. She is also a certified coach, passionate about helping others reach their God-given potential.
She loves books, musical theatre, and organic vegetables. She's been married to Mark since 1997, has three busy teen-aged daughters, as well as a Goldendoodle who loves to go on long walks every morning.
She feels she’s in exactly the right place when she's helping others to see God's activity in their lives and in the world around them.
