During most of the pandemic, our Sunday mornings services were held via Zoom gathering. Starting Sunday, June 6, our services will resume at MERGE in the Iowa City Pedestrian Mall. MERGE is located in the same building structure as the Iowa City Public Library. The entrance to MERGE faces Dubuque Street (in the ped mall) and is located just north of the play structure.
While the CDC continues to release good news for vaccinated individuals, we recognize that not all in our community have been vaccinated yet. Additionally, comfort levels that are not scientifically based vary between individuals and are a result of personal preference and/or experience. In order to ensure health and safety to unvaccinated individuals and find a common denominator for the most people to participate on Sunday morning, we are currently requesting that all CityChurch attendees wear masks, unless they are a child under the age of 2 or have disabilities or medical issues that would make mask wearing problematic. Because our goal is to ultimately move back to a "normal" in-person service without masks, we'll be re-evaluating this policy throughout the summer. In the meantime, we appreciate your understanding if this policy is not in accordance with your personal preferences.
At this time we will not be serving coffee or snacks.
Have a younger child, tween, or teenager? Our Sunday morning services are family friendly! Preschool ages and up are included at the beginning of the service and can participate in a family devotional. Ages 6th grade and below are then released to a classroom for supervised play and activities. Our adult classroom supervisors are background-checked and great with kids! Tweens and teens are welcomed into the full service unless they are a scheduled volunteer assistant in the children's classroom.
